OUR STORY STARTS ON
MISSOURI GRASSLANDS

Where ranchers, conservationists and the National Audubon Society have teamed up with food entrepreneurs Jake and Chelsea Davis, owners of Root Cellar. Together, they’re making land work for birds, and bringing you delicious beef in the process.

We care about supporting family farmers and the future of Missouri's birds.

YOUR BEEF CAN HELP BRING BIRDS BACK

Grazing cattle with bird habitat in mind restores the land instead of allowing it to become row crops or factory farms. Native birds and pollinators get to feast on the grasslands they evolved with and deep-rooted prairie plants foster healthier air, streams, and soil. The Audubon seal on every package of our beef means the grassland is managed responsibly under strict conservation standards.

THE BEEF

Taste the Difference

Know what pairs nicely with fresh farmer's market produce? 100% grass-fed beef grown locally, Prairiebird Pastures works with Missouri family farmers and ranchers who choose to go against the grain. They’re committed to treating their animals with care, creating healthy native prairies and making Missouri a haven for grassland birds.

Prairiebird Pastures beef is 100% grass-fed, raised without hormones or antibiotics. Plus, we use the whole animal, so there's little waste in the process. You win. Birds win. Farmers win. We all win.
